Connect your AI (MCP)
MCP overview
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI apps to your cnvrtlocal workspace.
This section is for people who want to use an AI app with cnvrtlocal. It's a bit more technical than the rest of the docs, but you don't need to write code.
What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. In plain words, it's a standard way to let an AI app, like Claude or ChatGPT, safely work with another service.
Once you connect one, you can say things like "show me my sites" or "build a site for this business" in your AI app. It does the work in your cnvrtlocal workspace.
What your AI can do
- Look. Read your businesses, sites, pages, blog posts and analytics.
- Build drafts. Create sites, add pages, write blog posts and fix business details. These are always saved as drafts.
- Edit sections. Change headings, body text, button labels, colours and list items like FAQs and services. Add, move, hide or remove whole sections. On a live site, you approve the change first.
- Add images. Upload an image from a link or make one with AI, and place it in a section. You choose whether to allow this.
- Ask to go live. Ask to publish a site or connect a domain.
- Schedule blog posts. Line up drafted posts to publish on set dates. You approve the batch first.
- Read leads. Only if you turn it on.
What it can't do
It can't put anything live by itself. Publishing and connecting a domain always need a person to approve inside cnvrtlocal. See Approvals.
How it works, in short
- You paste one link into your AI app:
https://app.cnvrtlocal.ai/api/mcp - cnvrtlocal asks you to sign in.
- You pick a workspace and choose what the app is allowed to do.
- The AI app can now work in that workspace.
You can see and cut off connected apps any time in Settings, then Integrations. See Troubleshooting and revoking.
